Ardesqo Dance Company is a Salsa Dance School based in Maastricht, the Netherlands. In the part of the Netherlands that calls itself Limburg this School strives to spread the joy, the fun, the creativity and the passion of Salsa and it's cousins through it's directors:
Jason Leckie & Mautje Hous.
Ardesqo comes from the word Ardesco. Translated from it's origins in Latin the word means: "To become inflamed". We replaced the c with a q in to symbolise the funkyness and for the way the danceschool has been able to grow by daring to dance differently, teach differently and grow differently.
Our philosophy is to build a big Salsa-family with the concepts of quality & fun as a central theme. We have taught hundreds of people to dance Salsa and we hope you will also join this family. We can guarantee that you will learn how to dance salsa compliant to international standards in the most informal atmosphere of any dance-school. We are always honest in our opinions about your dancing-skills and will use our experience in dancing and teaching to get you to better understand your own dancing.
So Ardesqo Dance Company will always provide:
Dancing-methods compliant to international standards and the most informal atmosphere where you will never feel uncomfortable. We provide home-grown figures that are dance-able with anybody and everybody.
We are proud of our system of conscious dancing where we teach you how to lead and follow every single technique from basics to advanced, so we all can dance with anybody!
Quality & Fun.

I started dancing about 13 years ago now.
It first started with me looking for a way to go out dancing and my love for this thing most beautiful has grown endlessly. This is music made from the heart and thus we must dance it from the heart.
As my physics teacher used to say to inspire us: When you start teaching and sharing your knowledge you will find out how deep the rabbithole goes. So I started teaching Salsa in order to get to understand the art better and thus to get better myself. Looking back I have grown a lot as a dancer and a teacher and plan to grow even more. Because as we grow, so do those that dance with us.
Dance to express not to impress. And remember EVERYTHING starts and ends with the music in dance. Enjoy your dancing no matter what style you dance.
Jason is also available as a Dj for your Salsa-party.
For me Salsa started way back when my dad used to listen to various Salsa songs and then just bust out dancing. Sometimes he would grab my mom and dance in the kitchen back home in Curacao. Mind you this was old-school Salsa, not the Salsa we know nowadays. After a while I would start moving on my own trying to *catch* the rhtyhm while doing the dishes. But that is as far as it went.

My first introduction to the Puertorican/La-Style was actually at De Kadans. I was invited to a Salsa party there and I was amazed at the turns and intricacies of this style. When I went back home to Curacao for my internship I was really bitten by the Salsa virus. I saw all the people dancing with so much passion, so much sabor, count me in!
Back in the Netherlands I needed to dance, I had to dance! On my first night dancing back here I met Jason and it all snowballed into teaching Salsa. So that’s how it all started. I love teaching, period. I love to see the progress of my students. I love all the questions they ask. I love it all.
There is no sense in living without passion.

Looking forward to sharing this great dance with EVERYBODY.
